According to the source, a 10% increase in the minimum price of an alcoholic beverage would reduce its consumption compared to other drinks.

Currently consumed by the young and old in the various corners of the city of Kananga, the price of a bottle of alcohol commonly called "Tshitshiampa" has risen from 3000 to 7000 FC in the space of three weeks.

Moreover, some sellers of this product reveal that this price surge is due to the scarcity of the products used to make the alcohol, the impracticability of the roads, as well as the instability of the exchange rate.

A 20-liter jerrycan of alcohol currently costs 140,000 FC, the 5-liter one costs 33,000, and a bottle is priced at 6000 FC or even 7000 FC depending on the place of sale.
