The People's Party for Reconstruction and Democracy (PPRD) announces, in a statement dated April 15, the temporary exclusion of its member, Moussa Mondo, for a period of 3 months, pending the outcome of the judicial investigations related to the death of his spouse, Alisa Khadidja of Malagasy origin.

The statement notes: "Appalled by this tragic event, the PPRD has made this decision in accordance with the party's statutes and internal regulations, which advocate for republican and democratic values, respect for human rights of both men and women, as well as honorability and human dignity, taking into account the seriousness of the suspicions weighing on Moussa Mondo".

Given the seriousness of the suspicions against comrade Moussa Mondo, the same source adds that the PPRD, as a party advocating republican and democratic values, as well as the respect for human rights of men and women, has taken measure number 003/PPRD/emr/2024 dated April 15, 2024. This decision includes precautionary measures, namely the temporary exclusion of comrade Moussa Mondo for three months, in accordance with the party's statutes and internal regulations. These measures will remain in effect until the investigations are concluded.

Former Minister of Hydrocarbons, Moussa Mondo was taken into custody in Kinshasa on the night of April 14 to 15, following his escort of his spouse to a local medical facility for injuries he allegedly inflicted on her, it has been learned.

Presumed, he is currently placed under police custody awaiting his summary trial.
