After having led the province as an acting official for an extended period, Fifi Masuka Saini now has a direct mandate obtained from the provincial deputies. She has decisively beaten Jean-Marie Tshizainga, her main challenger.

From entrepreneurship to management and onto politics, Fifi Masuka (mother of four) has cultivated a winning culture. Her first steps in politics were taken within the Movement for the Liberation of Congo (MLC) led by Jean-Pierre Bemba, initially as an activist before moving up the ranks.

She later created her own party, FIDEC, joining the presidential majority of President Joseph Kabila in the 2011 legislature. After the division of some provinces, she was appointed as deputy special commissioner, alongside principal Richard Mueyej. They were re-elected for the 2018 elections. Following the misstep of her principal, Richard Mueyej, who was ousted by the provincial assembly, she led Lualaba as an acting official until being elected governor this Monday, April 29, 2024.
