The victim is said to be a Malagasy woman met in Iran and who had lived for several years with this former deputy minister in Kinshasa. The unfortunate woman was beaten and had a swollen face before she passed away in a Kinshasa hospital.
Relatives indicate that this woman was the victim of beatings and injuries by her husband. She is believed to have succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Her husband is suspected of femicide and has been arrested by the police.
