The displaced people from the Mudzipela neighborhood in the city of Bunia in Ituri have ransacked voting offices and voting machines of the CENI this Wednesday, December 20th.

They are decrying, according to their statements, the decision of the CENI which requires them to go vote in their respective areas in the territory of Djugu.

However, these displaced people respond that they registered to vote in Bunia.

This Wednesday morning, they stormed the CENI voting offices, located within the premises of the ISP primary school, to prevent the voting process from taking place. The police resorted to warning shots to disperse the protesters.

The situation remains tense.
