Premeditated gang rape is the grievance attributed to a group of teenagers who, on the evening of May 17, took the liberty of abusing a 13 years old girl in an apartment in downtown of Kinshasa.

Reverend Kim College where the victim and his executioners are studying of a night, obviously had no control over that fateful night. Far from their supervisors, the students planned, without their knowledge, the organization of a birthday party that turned into a nightmare for the descendants of Eve.

The organizers whose age range varies between 15 and 17 years old, dragged lower class students into their perverse flight. The party took a slippery slope when a high dose of alcohol swallowed, the libido went into a trance, no longer retaining her restive effects in an evening where the sexual grip was so great.

In the meantime, a 13 years old girl, probably the weakest link in the vicious dynamic that has begun, has suffered harassment on the verge of indecency on the part of one of the party-goers.

Far from being easy prey, the girl resisted the onslaught of her courtier. The latter who did not want to let go ended up finding the trick. In a time two movements, a drug was quickly poured into the glass of the girl whose attention was maliciously diverted.

The sequel is a series of crisp scenes worthy of pornography. Six young boys in addition to the sponsor found themselves, in single file, in a tiny room, subjecting their victim unconscious torture of sex.

A complacent verdict

When the facts are brought to the public square, the clamor is such that some already imagined the level of punishment that the rapists would incur. Spectacular turn of events- the Gombe Children's Court, where the file was sent, rendered its verdict on the eve of the fixed date, 17 June, in the absence of the victim's lawyers.

Among the seven boys who appeared in this case, two were found guilty. The first was sentenced to death and transferred to the Kinshasa Penitentiary Rehabilitation Center for five years.

The second was reprimanded and given to his parents for lack of complicity in rape. Both must pay the sum of ten thousand US dollars for damages. The other five defendants were all simply acquitted.

During this time, the raped girl shows signs of vaginal injury and trauma that require follow-up by a psychologist. Unfortunately, she was unable to present her exams of end ofyear.

What will revolt civil society organizations and citizen movements that are already planning a march of anger, June 20, in Kinshasa to protest against the verdict rendered by the court

In meantime, the victim's lawyers plan to appeal the decision of the juvenile court, which sentenced two of the defendants and acquitted the other five. A verdict which, it is said, is out of all proportion to the seriousness of the facts. File to follow.
