The TP Mazembe management has provisionally suspended goalkeeper Siadi Baggio since Monday, April 1, for a song targeting the club's executives.

He will not be part of the club's delegation to Luanda in Angola where they are set to meet Petro de Luanda on Saturday, April 6, 2024, for the CAF Champions League return match.

According to reports, this decision follows the posting of a video on social media after the match as part of the first-leg encounter on Saturday, March 30, in Lubumbashi in Haut Katanga, which ended in a goalless draw (0-0) between his team and the Angolan side.

Inappropriate behaviors!

His lyrics in the song are considered to have been inappropriate towards the club's executives. This goalkeeper, noting that his team has not had much playing time for a while, is going through a tough period. He specifically names TP Mazembe's goalkeeping coach, Robert Kidiaba, manager Frédéric Kitengie, and president Moïse Katumbi.

In a statement released by the club on social media, the player is accused of inappropriate behavior on and off the field.

In turn, he defended himself through the same medium, explaining that the video had been recorded in February 2024 and that he never intended to harm his team, claiming to be the victim of a "defamation campaign" orchestrated by malicious individuals.

The suspension of Siadi Baggio has sparked controversy among Mazembe fans, with some supporting him and questioning the decision, while others believe that the management should have taken more severe sanctions.
