On his account X, opposition leader Martin Fayulu believed that President Félix Tshisekedi's regime is taking a "gradual and dangerous deviation," following the request to open a judicial investigation against the Metropolitan Archbishop. "There is no doubt that Mr. Félix Tshisekedi's illegitimate regime is taking a progressive, uncontrollable, and dangerous deviation for our country. Considering taking legal action against Cardinal Ambongo is the straw that breaks the camel's back. The cardinal's statements, as part of his prophetic mission, are shared and accepted by the majority of Congolese," wrote Martin Fayulu.

The president of the party Engagement for Citizenship and Development (ECIDé) has called on the Congolese to be ready "to thwart this provocative action" initiated by the Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation, Firmin Mvonde Mambu. "I call for the vigilance of all Congolese and I ask them to be ready to thwart this provocative action aimed at silencing everyone and consolidating the ongoing dictatorship. This shall not pass," he added.

In his correspondence to the prosecutor of the Kinshasa-Matete Court of Appeal, Firmin Mvonde Mambu notes that the prelate "deliberately offends consciences and seems to find pleasure through these false rumors." The Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation thus accuses him of spreading "false rumors," of "inciting the population to revolt against established institutions and attacking human lives."
