The National Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) concluded on Tuesday, December 5, the accreditation process for observers, journalists, and witnesses of candidates, parties, or political groupings for the upcoming elections on December 20. This phase of the electoral process is critical, as it allows stakeholders to monitor the progress of the elections from start to finish.

This operation was launched on October 24. At the same time, it invited political parties and groupings, independent candidates, civil society organizations, and national media interested in participating in the media coverage or observation of the general elections, to make contact with its provincial executive secretaries (SEP), in the provincial capitals and its branches at the level of territories and cities in the DRC.

The accreditation for voting and counting operations does not apply to those for the compilation of results.

For the compilation of results at local compilation centers, a separate accreditation must be requested, CENI specifies.
