The Congolese Press Agency (ACP) headlines its coverage on the consultations undertaken by Prime Minister Judith Suminwa in the formation of the government.

On the third day, the political group 4AC committed, after discussions with Ms. Suminwa, to focus on the needs of the population.

"The Prime Minister asked us not to focus on the size of the government but rather on what we are going to do to meet the needs of the population. We are committed to going in the same direction and succeeding in this fight," said Lambert Osanga, co-chair of the 4AC group.

"Elections for senators and governors: phones and cameras prohibited," announces Le Phare. Indeed, the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation has just banned the use of phones, cameras, and other communication equipment in the various rooms where the elections will be held on April 29, 2024. This is to ensure their smooth conduct.

Media professionals are not hiding their dissatisfaction with what appears to be a serious infringement on press freedom, Le Phare points out.
In the same context, Forum des as reports that this measure aims to counter any attempt at corruption of the grand electors (provincial deputies) during these elections.

In a letter dated April 15 of this year, the PGR Firmin Mvonde instructed the Attorneys General at the Courts of Appeal of all the provinces of the DRC "to set up an organization that allows for the unveiling of acts likely to contribute to the commission of these offenses, in particular by ensuring the prohibition of carrying mobile phones or any other object equipped with cameras".
