LA PROSPERITE, regarding the signing of the military cooperation agreement between Kinshasa and Moscow, headlines: "Russia announces it has approved a draft military cooperation agreement with the DRC."

A draft military cooperation agreement with the DRC has been approved this week by Moscow, reports this newspaper. An announcement made on the official website of the Russian government on Tuesday, it adds, but, LA PROSPERITE notes, few details have so far emerged on the form this cooperation would take.

"In a clarification yesterday, Government: No military cooperation agreement has been recently signed with Russia," headlines FORUM DES AS.

On the same subject, AFRIQU’ACTU headlines: "The DRC denies having signed a military cooperation agreement with Russia".

No military cooperation agreement has been recently signed between Russia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Kinshasa denies, which, contrary to certain rumors, speaks rather of Moscow's approval of the principle of a draft agreement that could lead to the eventual signing of an agreement long demanded by a significant part of the Congolese population in the context of Rwandan aggression, underlines this media which specifies: "The DRC has therefore not turned its back on the West in favor of Russia".

The draft agreement approved on Tuesday, March 5 by the country of Vladimir Putin is, adds AFRIQU’ACTU, according to the spokesman for the Congolese government, Patrick Muyaya, an approach initiated by both parties in 1999 and since then, this process has taken a lot of time.

Since the resurgence at the end of 2021 of the M23 rebels with the support of the Rwandan army, a significant part of the Congolese population denouncing the "complicity" of the West calls for the strengthening of military cooperation between Kinshasa and Moscow, notes our colleague.

On the subject of this war and the sanctions reserved for traitors "Rwandan aggression: political traitors arrested," announces FORUM DES AS.

"According to sources cited by the Congolese Press Agency (ACP), Congolese political actors and ordinary citizens were arrested by the army while they were actively supporting the Rwandan army and the M23 terrorists in their aggression of the country in its eastern part," this newspaper explains in its article with this title.

The individuals concerned had been followed by intelligence services for some time, according to testimonies gathered by the public media, quoted by our colleague. It is about, he says, political actors and sometimes ordinary-looking citizens, but who closely collaborate with the RDF-M23 coalition.

FOURM DES AS also recalls that "During a meeting of the High Security Council, the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Defense, Jean-Pierre Bemba, had proposed lifting the moratorium on carrying out the death penalty in the case of treason”. But, our colleague continues, sources contacted by the ACP in the course of the investigation have declared that these people put under arrest will be brought before the courts for a public and transparent trial. It will be up to the military justice to rule on these blatant cases of collaboration with the enemy.

Still on the subject of the war in the East of the DRC, the same newspaper, FORUM DES AS headlines: "Confiding yesterday to Vice Prime Minister Jean-Pierre Bemba: The Ambassador of Germany in Kinshasa deplores the violation of the sovereignty of the DRC".

Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Kinshasa, Mr. Ingo Herbert, deplores ''the violation of the sovereignty of the DRC''.

"As Germany, we are very committed to humanitarian aid, stabilization, development in the region. But, we are very concerned by this escalation," added the German diplomat, writes this daily.
