The Archbishop of Kinshasa, Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo, during the celebration on Monday at the Kermesse space in Gemena, the capital of the South Ubangi province, on the thirtieth anniversary of the Capuchin Minor Brothers' province, invited the Catholic faithful to cultivate peace, love, and unity, and to beware of the discriminatory speeches of politicians.
Several dignitaries attended the ceremony.
Among them, the governor of the province, Jean-Claude Mabenze.
Cardinal Ambongo emphasized: “I urge you to cultivate peace, love, and cohesion. Be wary of discriminatory speeches by politicians in order to keep the commandments of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Taking advantage of this occasion, the governor of the province named the Kermesse space after Cardinal Fridolin Ambongo by a decree issued for the event.
He noted: “For the joy that God has given us through your elevation, I name this space ‘Espace Tata Fridolin Ambongo’. A public garden will be established here in your honor.”
Last week, Cardinal Ambongo went to Bwamanda where he led a milling operation, to Boto, and his native village, Bominenge-Kada, as part of a pastoral visit. His return to Kinshasa is scheduled for this Tuesday, April 9.
