According to Léon Masamba, the head of the traffic police in Kasangulu, speeding and overloading were the causes of the accident that occurred around two o'clock in the morning.
"It was after trying to steer the vehicle to the right side of the road that the steering wheel got locked," the vehicle's manager reported.
However, the bodies of the victims are kept at the morgue while the injured are being taken care of at the Kasangulu general referral hospital.
