The President of the Republic regained the congolese capital last Sunday after having attended from 17 to August 18, the 39th Summit of Sadc to Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania.

During his meeting, which focused on "a business environment conducive to inclusive and sustainable industrial development and increased intra-community trade and job creation", Félix Tshisekedi in front of the panel briefly outlined the situation in the DRC; from insecurity to the response of the Ebola virus.

Regarding the insecurity, the Head of State asked Sadc's support to resolve to strengthen the FARDC in order to definitively end all these movements that sow death and desolation to the Congolese.

"I would like to solicit under the charter of our organization, your solidarity with my country and its people, so that at the end of this session, we can, like the special brigade that operates under the command of Monusco and who had routed the M23, take the firm resolve to strengthen the army forces of the DRC, to finally end with all these movements that sow death and desolation among our people", Felix Tshisekedi said in front of his peers.

Speaking of the Ebola virus disease, the Congolese Head of State said that he set up last May, a technical unit that works under his supervision, made up of experts of international renown.

Among them, Dr. Muyembe who identified the Ebola virus by conducting the research that led to the discovery of mAb114, a therapeutic molecule for the treatment of this disease
At the end of the summit, the Sadc took note of acts of extremism and terrorism perpetrated in the DRC, specifically in the Beni region.

However, he undertakes to continue working with Cirgl and to consolidate efforts to restore political stability and security in that region.

The SADC mission is to promote economic growth, sustainable socio-economic development, equity through efficient, productive systems for cooperation and good governance, and sustainable peace and security so that the region becomes a competitive and effective international relations and the global economy.
