Four soldiers from the SADC (Southern African Development Community) mission were killed and three others injured when a mortar shell exploded in the Mubambiro area, located in North Kivu province, according to a statement released on Monday, April 8, by the SADC Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (SAMIRDC).

It is alleged that the M23 rebels fired mortars in several places, notably to the west of Goma and in the locality of Sake, as well as around the SAMIRDC base in the Mubambiro area, not far from Sake.

The document states that the three other injured soldiers are from Tanzania and are part of the SADC mission forces, deployed in the DRC to stabilize the eastern part of the DRC, which is facing Rwandan aggression under the guise of the M23.
