The elected Senate President Alexis Tambwe Mwamba took office on Wednesday following a transfer of the power ceremony at the People's Palace with Speaker of the Provisional office of the Upper House of Parliament, Leon Mamboleo Moghuba Itundamilamba, in the presence of other members of the definitive bureau.

On this occasion, the two personalities signed the relevant files concerning, in particular, the summary of parliamentary activities carried out during the extraordinary session (rules of procedure, proclamation of election results), financial report, procurement report, on the social security of the senators, human resources, movable heritage, motor carriages, parliamentary organizations and the legislative arrears.

The president of the definitive bureau has set the mission of, among other things, modernizing the Senate by introducing new information and communication technologies. In addition to its president, the final bureau is composed of Samy Badibanga and John Tibasima (1st and 2nd Vice-Presidents), Kaumba Lufunda and Sona Kamitatu (Reporter and Deputy Reporter) and Eric Rubuye and Rolly Lelo (Quaestor and Deputy Quaestor).
