"Elections of province governors: here are the most prominent candidates," reports Forum des as. As the elections of the governors approach, the polling institute Les Points consulted the population to collect its preferences among the candidates lined up in the different provinces. In addition to making their selection based on their province of origin, respondents said they expect experienced personalities capable of meeting the multiple challenges faced by the Congolese populations to be in charge of these decentralized entities.

From their choice, three categories of candidates emerged. The first group includes the incumbent governors with a positive record (Jacques Kyabula for Haut-Katanga, Fifi Masuka for Lualaba); while in the second category, there are former governors whose mandate was a failure. The third category is reserved for new figures who, moreover, promise a breath of fresh air at the head of the provinces for which they have committed themselves in these elections.
