The former workers of the now-defunct Sucrerie de Lotokila in Tshopo mobilized once again on Thursday, February 29, in Kisangani, to demand the definitive settlement of their final accounts following the liquidation of this company.

They were in large numbers camping out all day around the governor's office to express their frustration.

Roger BOSONGO, spokesperson for these former workers who confided in Radio Okapi, laments that despite the request made by the

chairwoman of the committee at Equity BCDC to return the balance of funds intended for the workers, in order to completely wrap up this payment, nothing has been done.

"It is with bitterness that we note that since that date until now, the general management of Equity BCDC has not responded to that letter, while people are waiting, others are dying. There is a group of people who have not yet been served," criticizes Roger BOSONGO.

In the same movement, they are also demanding payment of certified and validated salary arrears by the General Directorate of Public Debt for 132 months.
