The National Institute of Arts (INA) has been mourning the loss of one of its distinguished sons in the person of Professor Longa Fo (Lof) at the age of 66 years. According to a columnist from RTNC, he was attacked by bandits a year ago, and it is since then that his health deteriorated.

However, according to a media publishing on the net, he was the victim of a stroke.

Ya Lof leaves behind a hefty legacy in the field of dance. Among his achievements, one can mention the choreography exploited and performed by young girls in the playbacks of old hits by Tabu Ley Rochereau, choreographed by himself from his old successes.

Longa Fo, who honed his skills at the Mudra Africa School in Senegal, trained several choreography artists. This is the case with Lisette Nsimba, who has featured in several songs by Papa Wemba, King Kester Emeneya, and Jacques Yanga.

In the 1980s, Longa Fo, who also had notions in acting, collaborated with the actors Mangobo, Monzali, Ngaluphar, Lokuli, and Maman Shako on the occasion of their live performances at the studio maman Angebi of Ozrt (currently RTNC) as part of his show "Variétés samedi soir." Longa Fo had his own structure, the ballet Lof, which was a real dance school.
