This report was made public through a press release published on Thursday, February 1st by Dr. Cris Kacita, the physician in charge of operations for the Monkeypox incident management system at the National Program against Monkeypox and Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers (PNLM-FHV).

In his statement, Dr. Cris Kacita asserts that all necessary measures have been taken by the government and its partners to respond to the epidemic. It should be noted that this epidemic has been present in the Democratic Republic of Congo for several months. The provinces of Equateur and Kongo Central are also affected.
