“We are worried because there is a lack of alternative parking and it causes problems for good traffic flow,” declared Jean Kitwa, one of the taxi drivers.

Another taxi driver added:

“I welcome the redevelopment of the huileries roundabout but how can the authority close a parking area without planning or creating another one?”, questioned Augustin Fula.

“Now there’s a huge traffic jam here because of the lack of parking,” blurted out Claudy Kiala, one of the motorcyclists.

The redevelopment of the huileries roundabout by the Deputy Governor, Gecoco Mulumba, was applauded by the residents of the area who felt it had been neglected before.

“We praise this initiative because this corner had lost its luster, and now thanks to the action of the authority Gecoco Mulumba, the huileries roundabout is in its finest attire,” clarified maman Chantal, one of the street vendors.

“This place had become very dirty and neglected, now it is clean and even relaxing, I congratulate this beautiful initiative of the provincial government and wish that this would also be done in other roundabouts of the capital,” she emphasized.
