According to explanations from those close to the traditional administration of Masisi, these rebels, supported by Paul Kagame's country, have advanced towards Kalembe, on the border with the territory of Walikale. Despite that, they have occupied the localities of Nyanzale Kikuku, Kibirizi, Somi Kivu, and the surrounding areas in the territory of Rutshuru. They subsequently targeted the Mabenga-Katanda route at 17 km, and the Kanyabayonga axis.

According to several sources contacted by a private local channel, the advance of the rebels in the north is putting pressure on the entities of Rwindi and that of Vitshumbi on Lake Edward.

Other sources on the ground report that fighting has been concentrated around the Busendo area, in the Virunga National Park, on National Road no. 2 to the north of Kiwanja, in the territory of Rutshuru.

And to note that on the same Friday, the FARDC also clashed with the M23 in the Bashali-Mokoto grouping, Northwest of the town of Mweso, in the territory of Masisi. On this matter, an official from the Rutshuru Youth Parliament is calling on the Government to take this threat into account before the worst happens.
