The mayor of Lemba in Kinshasa, Mr. Serge Bopa, inaugurated on Wednesday, March 27, the permanent office of his municipal council during a ceremony in the multipurpose room of this district.

For Serge Bopa, the permanent office established has the mission to manage the council and the councillors. It will work closely with the mayor, by assuming a certain responsibility to fight against anti-values and to successfully complete this mandate.

He added: "I thank the interim bureau that has worked all this time, and I congratulate the permanent bureau installed; know that this is a union that will last at least five years and it requires transparency, dialogue, love. These are the three things that will push you to do your job well and to overcome all the problems. I take this opportunity to ask the neighborhood chiefs, heads of services, agents, and executives to collaborate with you because from this council will come out a mayor and his deputy. Together, as one body, we will ensure the fate of Lemba's residents."

For his part, the president of the provisional bureau, Noël Mafuta Lupumba stated: "The law says that after 50 days, it would be necessary to form a permanent office, the fiftieth day is today. We went to the elections yesterday, for reasons of transparency we are pleased to hand over the command baton to the new committee, I am very happy to have served."

Responding to the Concerns of the Population

In her turn, the president of the permanent bureau, Théthe-Ruth Makola, first thanked her fellow communal councillors for having chosen her modest person. "Of course, I will have the chance and the honor to lead this mission with all of you by my side, as we are a team. Dear fellow members of the council bureau, the mission of a local elected representative is, first and foremost, a community-oriented mission, so, we have two major challenges to meet during this mandate, namely to fight against uncleanliness and insecurity," she promised.

Elected with 7 votes out of 11, Théthe-Ruth Makola sensitized her colleagues: "We therefore have the duty to respond to the needs and concerns of the population during these next five years. I am counting on each of you, on your commitment and your collaboration."

To our neighborhood chiefs, heads of services, agents and executives, Théthe-Ruth highlighted, "I would ask you not to see in us new bosses, but collaborators and servants of the population for solving various problems that threaten our district. I would like us to feed our exchanges for the progress of Lemba, we are an organ of orientation of the policy and management of our entity, our doors will be widely open for your suggestions."
