Tear gas rounds were fired near the headquarters of Martin Fayulu's party to disperse a handful of protesters. This headquarters of the Commitment for Citizenship and Development (ECIDé) is located on Avenue de l'Enseignement, in the Kalamu commune. Martin Fayulu has been present at this headquarters since 10 a.m.
Presidential candidates Théodore Ngoy, Jean-Claude Baende, Nkema Liloo, Martin Fayulu, and Denis Mukwege are expected to demonstrate this Wednesday, December 27, to demand the reorganization of the elections with a new CENI. However, the government, on its part, has banned this public demonstration, arguing that election disputes should be addressed at the appropriate time before the Constitutional Court.
