The watchword of the Minister of Gender and Family was respected in Kinshasa this Friday, March 8, 2024, in the morning on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day.

No extravagances or celebrations in the bistros that Kinshasa women usually flock to on such occasions for a drink. Additionally, many women wore dark attire as a sign of mourning due to the massacres and human rights violations that are perpetrated daily in the eastern part of the Republic.

Only a few activities of remembrance and prayer were observed here and there by the ministry and female associations. For example, the Ministry of Gender and Family organized a thanksgiving service at the Protestant Centenary Church in the Lingwala commune.

On their side, the Catholic Mothers of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa, especially those from Saint Anne of la Gombe, organized "a pilgrimage" which took them from their parish to the Cathedral of Notre Dame du Congo where this activity was to conclude with a Mass.

They mobilized the media for coverage of this activity, and the police for the supervision of the participants. The deacon of this parish had invited, at the end of the morning Mass, men to join in. As for them, the movement of Catholic Mothers from the Saint Jean-Apôtre parish of the diocese of Kisantu in the Mont Ngafula commune is also preparing a series of activities in the context of this commemoration.

At the level of Digitalcongo.net, the women were invited to dinner around our CEO, Nikola Vadjon. He urged our women colleagues to have a love for a job well done.
