The news of this choice for the national colors of the DRC was announced by the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA), this Friday, March 22, 2024, in the evening, through a post on its social media pages.
"Axel Tuanzebe, born in Bunia and a player for Ipswich Town in the English second division, is now eligible and selectable to represent the Leopards in upcoming international fixtures," states FECOFA.
The technical body of Congolese football thus confirms that the 26-year-old player is "eligible and selectable for the upcoming Leopards' rosters."
Trained at Manchester United, with whom he made 19 appearances in the Premier League, Axel Tuanzebe moved to Ipswich Town last September.
With the Tractor Boys, the player has had spells at Aston Villa and Stoke City, as well as with Napoli in Italy. He has played 11 matches in the Championship since the beginning of the season.
He can play both as a central defender and a right-back.
