The President of the Republic, Félix Tshisekedi, on Wednesday appointed Augustin Kabuya as the informant to identify the parliamentary coalition for the formation of the future government. His mission is as follows:


“To this end, a statement from the presidency of the Republic specifies that Mr. Augustin Tshilumba will consult with parties, political groupings, and political personalities of all tendencies, called to serve in the National Assembly following the provisional results proclaimed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, given that none of these parties or political coalitions has reached an absolute majority of the seats.

Following the legislative elections held on December 20, 2023, the President of the Republic, Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, has just entrusted, on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 12:00 pm, an information mission to Mr. Augustin Kabuya Tshilumba, Secretary General of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS)/Tshisekedi, the party that came first in the provisional results in terms of seats, for the purpose of formally identifying a majority coalition in the National Assembly enabling the formation of the government, in accordance with the provisions of Article 78 of the Constitution.

This mission is for thirty (30) days, renewable once, starting from this day.

For this purpose, Mr. Augustin Tshilumba will consult with parties, coalitions, and political personalities, of all tendencies, called to sit in the National Assembly, according to the provisional results proclaimed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, given that none of these parties or political coalitions has reached the absolute majority of seats. The informer will submit the conclusions of his mission to the President of the Republic.
