D3 medical students from the University of Mbandaka, who came to recover the lifeless body of their colleague, did not appreciate the state of decomposition of the latter, which had been kept at the morgue of the Mbandaka university clinic, the capital of Equateur province since last Sunday, it has been learned.

To express their dissatisfaction, these future doctors attacked the building housing the morgue, vandalized it, and carried away some materials found on the scene.

"They started throwing projectiles until they destroyed the entrance door of the said morgue on the pretext that the body of their comrade had not been well preserved and had decomposed. If I am alive, it is thanks to God. On the same occasion, they took my motorcycle, destroyed the ambulance and the quartermaster's office, as well as several belongings of the hospital," declared engineer Clovis Bokelu, one of the maintenance staff of the clinic.

Furthermore, the hospital authorities have begun investigations to apprehend the students responsible for these disorders in this public medical facility.
