The matter at hand was for the first diplomat to bid farewell to the Speaker of the Lower House of the Congolese Parliament.

After this meeting, he expressed himself as follows: "I came to thank the President of the National Assembly for the welcome. I have been here for two and a half years and since I arrived, he has continuously supported all the requests of the Egyptian people living here. He has always been attentive. Between the DR Congo and Egypt, we have been brothers for a long time, since the time of the patriarchs Emery Lumumba, Mobutu Sese Seko. And to this day, with His Excellency Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, President of the Republic. When the Egyptian president talks about him, he always says my brother and not my friend, he also does not say my counterpart, but always says my brother. That's how we work with Congo, and the Egyptian president has always said: all requests from the DR Congo are orders. So we have come to thank the honorable interim president for what he has done for me, during my two and a half year term. I never felt that I was in a foreign country, I always feel among my brothers."

For his part, President Mboso declared the following: "Mr. Ambassador has said it all. Egypt and the Democratic Republic of the Congo are brother countries, since 1960, to this day. I can recall, to prove that Egypt is a brother country, as a brother country, Egypt accompanied us in the organization of the 2023 elections. Planes, Egyptian pilots, and other materials from Egypt were provided to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. So, we are a brother country to Egypt. Ambassador Mahmoud is finishing his term, he came and we worked together... We are in touch with the Egyptian community. He came to say thank you to us and we also say it to him, on behalf of the Congolese people, for all that Egypt does, on behalf of our President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, who maintains active diplomacy between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Egypt. We say a big thank you to him and we will continue to work with your successor. He is at home, in Congo, and the Congolese people will always welcome him as a brother who is among his brothers."

It should be noted that he was accompanied by Mr. Ahmed Walid Gemaei, Embassy Counselor of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
