Following the handball players, the Congolese participating in the 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana, have once again achieved a feat by reaching the finals of the competition in the boxing discipline with five boxers, featuring two men and three women. The Congolese Boxing Federation, which provided this information, also notes that out of the 22 Congolese fighters lined up for these 13th African Games, 5 made it to the finals, 6 to the semi-finals, and 11 were eliminated.

"Five (5) boxers from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), including two (2) men and three (3) women, reached the finals of the 13th African Games on Wednesday, held in Accra, Ghana," it announces.

The male finalists are Livens Tulembekwa and Boniface Zengala.

The former beat the Ugandan, Innocent Tumusime, on points in the under 48 kg category, and the latter eliminated the Tunisian, Remdhani Zakaria, on points in the under 67 kg category.

Regarding the women, the three female boxers from the DRC obtained their qualification for the finals of this continental competition without presenting themselves in the ring due to a lack of opponents in their respective categories, the same source indicates.
