The high jurisdiction which sat in procedure of flagrancy also condemned Joel Bakonga, son and parsec of Willy, for 6 months of imprisonment and has to pay fine USD 30,000 dollars.

The former minister in charge of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education was arrested last 20 April in Brazzaville by the migratory services before being extradited to Kinshasa which, moreover, would have found at his place an illegally held sum of USD 30,000. The Supreme court of appeal also decided confiscation of these 30 million dollars.

The lawyers of Willy Bakonga denounced a decision of the court taken on the basis of "political" pressure and call the intervention of the Head of State to restore the right state. In his defense, Willy Bakonga pointed out that he went to Brazzaville to look after of a poisoning.

But according to the public ministry, the man tried to join Paris via the airport of Maya-Maya of Brazzaville after having crossed the river clandestinely, whereas in Kinshasa, he was under examination in the business of fraud and diversions to the ministry for the EPST. Willy Bakonga should thus introduce very soon again in front of the judges.

Last 25 March, the general inspector of the EPST, Michel Djamba and the general manager of the supervising Authority and the pay of teachers (SECOPE), Delphin Delon Kampay, were condemned to 20 years of forced work for diversion of the funds allocated to the free payment of basic teaching.
