The first positive case of the coronavirus does not come from North-Kivu as announced it, but from the province of Ituri. It is what rectified this Friday March 27 on actualite.cd, Dr. Jean-Jacques Muyembe, director of the national Institute of biomedical research (INRB) and person in charge of the technical team of response of the pandemia of coronavirus in DRC. He spoke about an error made in the transmission of the names of the samples sent to Kinshasa for the test.

Quite before, the governor of North-Kivu, Carly Nzanzu, had denied the fact that the positive case is of his province. The man is rather of Nyankunde, in Ituri, a province close to the North-Kivu which is found in the infected zones.

"Whereas there are cases in Rwanda close to North-Kivu, in Uganda also close to North-Kivu and Ituri, a nearby province, North-Kivu is thus between the hammer and the anvil. I will speak with my colleague about Ituri to plan restriction measures of certain freedoms in order to avoid the propagation of the virus. I thus invite the inhabitants of North-Kivu to the vigilance and to continue to observe the rules of hygiene and the measures enacted by the Head of State ", Carly Nzanzu Kasivita declared.

This first case of Coronavirus apart from Kinshasa intervenes whereas the president of the Republic stated on last 24 March the medical state of siege, by isolating the capital from the other provinces. At March 26, Kinshasa had already crossed the bar of 50 contaminations for five deaths.
