Turkey's DRC Ambassador Salih Bogaç Guldere said on Thursday that cooperation between the DRC's diplomatic academies and that of his country is looking good and will continue, during a reception organized in honor of 10 young Congolese diplomats trained from 24 to 28 June 2019 at the Turkish Academy in Ankara.

"Ten young Congolese diplomats have been trained for a week, especially on Turkey's foreign policy and correspondence," Salih Bogaç Guldere said, adding that the desire of the Congolese Academy to that of Turkey is in full examination.

The visit in November 2017, in Turkey, of former Foreign Minister Leonard She Okitundu, he recalled, was at the origin of the training program, explaining that this visit allowed the signing of the protocol of agreement between the two academies.

The trainers, he said, were well equipped, including experts like the ambassadors, saying that they have taught a lot to young Congolese diplomats.

The closing ceremony of the training was sanctioned by the presentation of an African gift of Okapi statuette, informed Pierre André Ngekene, adding that the emotion was also at the rendez-vous, stating that the whole delegation was excited by visiting the touristic of Istanbul town.

"The training program was scientifically rich, especially in terms of diplomatic and even cultural notions," said participant Adolin Bompongo Nkombe. The training program focused on protocol, international negotiation, diplomatic correspondence and international humanitarian law. The selection criteria to participate in the training were seniority, profile or function in the direction and mastery of the English language, it is reported.
