The Minister of Higher Education, Mohindo Nzangi, concluded on Thursday, December 14, the paramilitary training of at least 566 students from the Tshopo province.

For five weeks, these students, among them 29 girls, underwent both military and academic training for the defense of the homeland and learned to handle military tools as confirmed by their instructor, Professor Kabasele:

“They are capable of handling the drone, of playing with the GPS to recognize the enemy camp from a distance. They are capable of working with satellite images, and of interpreting cases with precision, calculating the scale and determining the firing distance...”

These paramilitary students also learned notions of love for the homeland, the general instructor of the FARDC, Brigadier General Bertin Nfutela, guaranteed.

He added that “he does not doubt the aptitudes they have acquired because the young trained students have entirely military attitudes...”.

This paramilitary training is the first to be concluded in the Tshopo province.

The Ministry of Higher Education has been tasked with training one million reservists over the coming five years.

This initiative is a response to the call of the Head of State for the defense of the country when needed.
