The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Coordinator of Humanitarian Operations, Mr. Bruno Lemarquis has promised the support of his institution to the next government of the DRC, following discussions with the Minister of State in charge of planning, Ms. Judith Suminwa.

Bruno Lemarquis announced: "The commitment of the United Nations to support the next government of the DRC for the success of its action plan during the next five-year term was at the center of our exchanges. We align ourselves with the national vision which is the National Strategic Development Plan and are waiting for the establishment of the Government's Action Plan."

He continued that they discussed the work carried out closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Francophonie and the Ministry of Planning for all stages of the transition planning, noting: "What I call transition is the continuation of the United Nations presence after the departure of MONUSCO."

The Minister of State for Planning, for her part, has welcomed on behalf of the government the support of the implementing agencies for the development of the DRC in the context of bilateral cooperation.
