Barely settled, the bureau of age of the South Kivu Provincial Assembly decided during the handover ceremony on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, to advocate for the payment of the outstanding emoluments of the deputies and the salaries of the administrative staff.
Its president, Fiston Kabeza, emphasized that the staff are facing serious problems. The bureau of age will advocate to finally find a solution to the various issues that the provincial deputies and civil servants are facing.
He expressed the hope to see the proceedings conducted in a democratic manner, in order to have a competent definitive bureau, for quality work. The deputies have accumulated more than 32 months of arrears, including 24 months of provincial allocation and 10 months of emoluments, while the agents and staff have a total of 32 months of non-payment.
