Due to a lack of resources on the part of the Congolese Football Association (FECOFA) and the government, the Leopards will not train together for the FIFA dates. No friendly matches are planned during this international break which benefits national teams.

Initially scheduled in Turkey, the training camp of the Congolese wildcats was canceled by Sébastien Desabre, due to a disagreement between the French coach and the Congolese Minister of Sports, François Kabulo, according to Dodo Landu, the Team Manager of the Leopards. "A training camp was planned in Turkey, where we were going to have several new players and key players lacking game time. The idea of the coach was not to play friendly matches during this camp. The goal was to review the squad and re-energize the team," he declared.

Landu also stated that the Leopards' coach-manager, Sébastien Desabre, canceled this program following a lack of agreement with the government. "It was also planned to include some local players and those playing in Africa, as well as the U20-U21 who participated in the camp in Tunisia. The coach decided to cancel this camp due to a lack of agreement with the government," added Dodo Landu.

Yet, the Democratic Republic of Congo should be preparing as it will face Senegal in an official match for the 3rd round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Coming fourth at the last African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, the Leopards risk losing their good momentum started in 2024. This situation could also negatively impact the next FIFA ranking of the Congolese selection.
