In these clashes, the young Wazalendo resistors were also grappling with the same rebels. However, a precarious calm was observed on Sunday evening in the vicinity of the town of Sake and along the Shasha-Bweremana axis, in the territory of Masisi, south of the city of Goma in the North Kivu province.

The detonations from heavy weapons that could be heard around the town of Sake and that of Shasha have ceased, local sources and civil society report, stating that a fragile calm has been present since the end of yesterday afternoon on all the front lines in Masisi, one of the territories occupied by rebels in North Kivu.

Likewise, on the axes Kimoka, at the entry of the village of Malehe, Kisheke behind the MONUSCO base, and at Tingi towards the village of Lutobogo. The hostilities took place on several positions of the insurgents located at the top of Ndumba hill all around the town of Shasha in the Mufuni Shanga group.

It was the Ndumba hill that was the theater of Sunday's hostilities, civil society sources indicate, it is this position that allows the rebels to control their rear bases from Mushaki and Kilolirwe to Mwesso passing through Kitchanga.
