Transco buses have been invisible on the arteries of Kinshasa city since Thursday morning. This company has run out of fuel stock. The only buses from this company that are noticeable are those committed to its school transport service or inter-urban transport, notably the one that operates traffic between Kinshasa, Matadi, Boma, and Muanda and vice-versa.

"It's been a week since the government has not provided this company with fuel," a local radio station announced during its news segment.

"This company does not apply the normal fare for the journey. It charges less for its services to allow the population to travel at a lower cost, following an arrangement with the government that agreed to cover the fuel costs. This is what is at the root of this problem," explained a Transco agent.

This is the second time in less than two months that Transco has experienced a difficulty of this kind. For some time now, this company has been forced to eliminate several of its lines. For example, line 04 (UPN – Central Station) no longer exists.
