Deo Kasongo has, on his account X, denounced the invalidation of his candidacy for the "umpteenth time". Yet, he argues, his application was filed on the same day as the other candidates. Faced with this situation, he promises to appeal to the Constitutional Court.
"I understand that the credibility of my candidacy is frightening. I will file an appeal in the proper form and we must all trust in the justice of our country, which will declare what is right. God remains on his throne, above men. I am ready," he stated.
There have been 231 candidacies validated out of the 237 in the running for the elections of governors and deputy governors concerning the entire national territory, which is 97%, with six candidacies being declared inadmissible by the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), which is 3%. These elections do not involve the provinces of Ituri and North Kivu, which are placed under a state of siege.
