During a political morning held at the headquarters of the presidential party in Limete, Augustin Kabuya revealed his intention to become the first vice-president of the National Assembly during the election of the members of the permanent bureau. "I inform you that I am a candidate for the position of first vice-president of the National Assembly," he declared.

This position was previously held by the former secretary-general of the UDPS and interim president of the party, Jean-Marc Kabund, under the office led by Madame Jeanine Mabunda. Following his disgrace, Kabund was replaced by UDPS deputy André Mbata. For this new legislature, the arrangement for this position remains unchanged. It is the UDPS that will occupy it this time with Augustin Kabuya.
