Having switched from Young Africa in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Fiston Mayele is among the three finalists for the CAF Interclub Player of the Year award in 2023.

The Congolese international from Pyramids FC (Egypt) is competing for the award with the Namibian Peter Shalulile from Mamelodi Sundowns of Pretoria and the South African Percy Tau from Al Ahly of Cairo.

Meanwhile, the African Player of the Year award is being contested by Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Achraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain), and Victor Osimhen (Naples).

The winner of each category is chosen following votes from a panel made up of the CAF Technical Commission, media professionals from member associations, head coaches and captains of member associations, and clubs involved in the group stages of interclub competitions.

The awards ceremony will take place on Monday, December 11, at the Movenpick Conference Center in Marrakech, Morocco.
