In February last, Madame Cécile Panzu Yanika, Federal Secretary in Brussels, presented to the press an agenda for the year 2024. The Interfederal branch of this Congolese party in Belgium, through its Federal Secretary in Brussels, indicated that they have planned the creation of a brochure that presents the activities of the UNC in this part of the world.

This document outlines the entire political journey accomplished by the party, including the voluntary enlistment of its members, the creation of the party’s anthem, and the formation of its electoral platform. According to Mrs. Panzu Yanika, the information contained in the brochure provides insights into the life and the role of the party engaged on the political scene since its inception in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2011.

Madame Cécile Panzu also announced having proposed courses on patriotic awakening in Brussels for the year 2024. This awakening to patriotism will focus in particular on the history, geography, and civic education on the Democratic Republic of Congo. She highlighted the importance of these courses, especially at the level of the diaspora. These concepts, according to her, will help forge a strong and lasting national unity.

The subjects chosen to address issues related to the awakening of patriotism will aim to strengthen national pride and contribute to the construction of a collective identity. The disciplines dealing with the awakening to patriotism serve as social glue, uniting citizens of a diverse nation through common values, a shared sense of belonging, and a commitment towards the common good.

This course on patriotism in favor of the Congolese youth living in Belgium is one of the innovations to be implemented to inspire their desire to work for Congo, to turn towards their country whose history is little or not known in Belgium. These courses provide the youth of the Congolese diaspora and the population as a whole with notions related to patriotism toward their country. The aim is to instill ideas about their attachment to a common national identity which promotes a sense of belonging, uniting people beyond their cultural, ethnic, or social origins.

Madame the Federal Secretary Cécile Panzu Yanika expressed her wish to collaborate with Mr. Disse Vanga, who is a member of the Brussels Federation. In the same context of this campaign, the Federal Secretary also specifies that she will collaborate with Mr. Jean-Marie Bokeleale, D.A. at the Geographic Institute of Congo (IGC) for more elements on the DRC.

Another aspect announced concerns political parties and more precisely the Union for the Congolese Nation of Vital Kamerhe which is, according to Federal Secretary Cécile Panzu, the cornerstone of national unity. This program plans, aside from its intervention on the youth, to dissect a theme related to the Women's section of the UNC during this month of March 2024.
