The Presidency of the Republic, providing this information states: “After Lomé (Togo), President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo traveled the same Wednesday to Nouakchott, Mauritania, for a 48-hour working visit. The Head of State was welcomed in the Mauritanian capital by his counterpart Cheikh Ghazouani, who is also the current President of the African Union.”

Presidents Félix Tshisekedi and Cheikh Ghazouani are scheduled to hold talks on Wednesday evening behind closed doors in a meeting expanded to include delegations from both countries, followed by an official dinner, the same source adds.

Regarding the Congolese president's visit to the Togolese capital, account X of the Presidency of the Republic notes: “The strengthening of ties between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Togo motivated President Tshisekedi's visit on Wednesday to the Togolese capital before heading to Nouakchott.”

In Lomé, Togo, it adds, Head of State Félix Tshisekedi had a one-on-one meeting lasting nearly an hour with his counterpart Faure Gnassingbe. The two leaders discussed issues related to cooperation between their countries.
