The technical secretary of the response to the Ebola virus, Dr Jeanè Jacques Muyembe, announced Friday in Goma, capital of Nord Kivu, the new plan to respond to the epidemic. This plan, which is intended to be a corrective of the 4th Strategic Response Plan (SRP4), takes into account previous failures and the multi-sectoral aspect of the epidemic.

Eight recommendations were made by Dr. Jean-Jacques Muyembe. These include the need to improve the working conditions of the agents of the response, to integrate local leaders and women in the response, to limit the mobility of contacts in the affected areas and especially to convey the right information.

The good information conveyed this Friday by the virologist Muyembe for the city of Goma, concerns four points, according to communication service of the presidency of the Republic:

1. Two proven cases of Ebola are under treatment. This is the woman and the daughter of the goldsmith. Their evolution is stable.

2. Six contacts including two daughters of the goldsmith tested negative. They are waiting for the last test this afternoon to confirm their negativity.

3. There are four other suspect cases waiting for the test.

4. No new cases of Ebola are reported in Goma.

"Ebola is not a career," said Dr. Muyembe to demonstrate his determination to end the epidemic, which totaled one year on August 1, quickly, causing more than 1,600 deaths.
