The sports organization of TP Mazembe, through its secretary Fréderic Kitengie, is taking a stand to hold the government accountable, in an open letter addressed a few days ago to the Prime Minister, Sama Lukonde.

He accuses: "For nearly three years, no support has been allocated to our team despite our constant presence on the African stage. We do not appear anywhere in the country's public expenditure chain. Other Congolese clubs benefit from state subsidies."

TP Mazembe also mentions the prohibition of authorization for exit and overflight by security services for the private plane supposed to transport a club delegation or its president.

The most recent case, he points out, is this ban imposed on boarding part of our delegation in the club president's aircraft for our match on March 2, 2024 in South Africa. More than four requests have been refused.

"Mr. Prime Minister, with the hope that this open letter will allow us to be reinstated in our rights and stop the momentum of injustice against us, TP Mazembe asks you to kindly consider it as it is personally intended for you to show the Congolese people the real climate in which we defend the country in our international matches," alerts Mazembe.
