The parliamentarians of the Sacred Union for the Nation (USN) and those of the Common Front for Congo (FCC) did not share the same opinion on Tuesday, November 14th, regarding the speech of the Head of State before the two chambers of Parliament, convened in congress.

Speaking to Radio Okapi, the president of the Sociocultural Commission of the National Assembly, León Mondole, an official from the political family of the Head of State, considered the achievements of the last five years of governance in the DRC to be positive.

Among other things, he mentioned the implementation of free primary education as one of the positive accomplishments of Félix Tshisekedi's five-year term.

"Two aspects concerned me in his address. The first is the man himself. A skillful Tshisekedi, very courageous and in full control of all his people's problems, determined to solve them despite the difficulties and circumstances. The second is the work done during his five-year term. An exceptionally positive and promising effort for the development of the great Congo which, for long periods, has been brought to its knees and riddled with rampant poverty. Prospects that give hope to communities and the Congolese people," emphasized León Mondole.

Besides education, this Tshisekedist deputy praised the establishment of a universal health coverage system that protects citizens.

In response, national deputy Willy Bolio of the FCC believes that the speech of the President of the Republic really deserves rebuttal on several points.

According to him, the Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi, portrayed an imaginary state of affairs that does not reflect the daily reality of the Congolese people.

For example, the Head of State mentioned a salary of more than 400,000 Congolese francs for teachers, whereas they still receive less than 300,000 Congolese francs, he specified.
