The President of the Economic and Social Council, Jean-Pierre Kiwakana, called on the Armed Forces of the DRC (FARDC) to ensure peace in the DRC during the opening ceremony on Monday, April 1, 2024, of the regular April session of this structure at the People's Palace.

He paid tribute to the victims of violence in the eastern part of the DRC, following the Rwandan aggression under the guise of M23.

In his speech, Jean Pierre Kiwakana addressed several points, notably on the political, security, environmental, health, political fronts, etc.

Jean Pierre Kiwakana condemned the complicity of the international community in the war prevailing in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, also calling on the government to get involved in the health sector, where several pharmaceutical depots inject products harmful to health and called on the government to monitor alcoholic beverages launched on the markets which harm the health of the population.

President Jean Pierre Kiwakana, has announced that, in collaboration with the government and partners working in the environmental sector, a forum is planned in the very near future, to limit natural disasters in the DRC, including: floods, heatwaves, landslides, seismic activity, drought.
