Taking the floor, Sama Lukonde announced that this date of January 16th has become a custom for his government to honor the valiant fighter that was this soldier of the people and today a national hero.

"We come to remember his oath that we must keep and cherish. That is, "Never betray Congo," which is what we are all committed to," Jean Michel Sama Lukonde told the press.

The head of the government also revealed that this oath from the late president Laurent Désiré Kabila was recalled throughout the election campaign of the current head of state, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, who himself referred to this valiant soldier.

Furthermore, Sama Lukonde, while recognizing the fight to the ultimate sacrifice of Mzee Kabila, has called on Congolese to embrace this vision and to preserve the unity of the DRC.
