The Congolese Press Agency (ACP) reports that the re-elected President Félix Tshisekedi has expressed his willingness to involve the political opposition of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the management of the country during his second term, in his inaugural speech on Saturday in Kinshasa, in the presence of 28 foreign delegations.

"Do we not say that the harder the fight, the more beautiful the victory? Therefore, you, ladies and gentlemen (of the opposition), are an intrinsic component to today's event, and rightfully have your place in the governance of our country," declared the President of the Republic.

"In my capacity as the guardian of national cohesion, I will ensure this, just as I will urge the parliament to ensure the effectiveness of the role of the opposition's spokesperson, which the latter will designate in accordance with the Constitution," he specified.

Faced with economic and security challenges, the re-elected president has committed to avoiding past mistakes in order to transform the country.

In his speech, he reflected on the experience gained over the past five years. He expressed his determination to act promptly to realize the aspirations of the Congolese people by implementing the necessary reforms for the development of Congo.

To achieve this, the head of state called on all institutions and citizens for a patriotic resurgence. He promised to form a government tasked with implementing these changes effectively.

"Learning from past experience and keeping in mind your expressed aspirations, I commit to use all that is within my power to ensure that the mistakes of the past are not repeated and that the necessary actions for the advancement of our country are promptly taken," he promised.

To materialize this, Félix Tshisekedi calls on the heads of institutions for a high level of patriotism. "It is to this end that I will engage the Government that will be formed, once the majority is established. From now on, I call on all public institution leaders, at any level, all female citizens and all citizens to a heightened sense of patriotism, so that our common dream of seeing our Congo in all its splendor become a reality," he appealed.
